Tarihçe
With the opening of Balıkesir University in 1992, work began on the establishment of Sındırgı Vocational School in 1995. The School Project received support from local government and non-governmental organizations. Following review at all levels, the application was approved by all authorities, and student admission began in the 1995-1996 academic year. The Health Institutions Management Program began accepting associate degree students in 2007. The program has an academic staff of three faculty members. Developments and innovations in the healthcare sector, coupled with the recent increase in the number of private hospitals, rehabilitation centers, dialysis centers, and specialized hospitals (eye, dental, heart, etc.), contribute to economic development both nationally and locally. The autonomy and privatization of healthcare services, which until recently were provided solely by the state, has led to the healthcare sector becoming, along with tourism, the sector that generates the most economic value and provides a multiplier effect. This contribution isn't limited to the country's borders; the foreign currency inflow generated by tourists and patients visiting our country for medical treatment has also become a significant economic asset. Consequently, our graduates have a wide range of career opportunities.
As of the 2024 academic year, the Department of Healthcare Institutions Management continues its education and training activities with 121 students.
